How to Make Guacamole

Making guacamole is fast and simple. You can use less than 10 ingredients to make this healthy, mouth-watering dip. Learn how to make guacamole by following these few easy steps.

For this recipe, you will need 2 avocados that haven't been frozen, or they'll lose their taste. You can keep them in the fridge if they are already ripe before you need them.

Believe or not, you will only need a fork or whisk to mix together your guacamole. You won't need to buy an expensive mixer or food processor. You'll also need some spoon measurements, a cutting board and a knife.

Take Out Your Ingredients

Avocados, tomatoes, and other ingredients

Taking out all your ingredients beforehand will help ensure that you have the right amount of each component you need to make your guac. You will need around 2 avocados, 1 raw onion, 1 tomato, 1 green or red pepper (optional), cumin, 1 lemon to make the juice, salt and pepper, and cilantro (optional).

Measure and Add

Cut up avocado

First, cut up your 2 avocados and place the avocado meat into the bowl. Then, use your fork or whisk and mush it all up. Choose what texture you want them to have: smooth or chunky. Next, use your tablespoon measurement and put in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, a dash of cumin, 1 teaspoon of salt (depending on how salty you want it), and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper and combine it with your fork or whisk.

Chopped tomatoes and other veggies

After you've got all your spices and taste inside your avocado mixture, you add the texture. Take your minced raw onion and throw it into the bowl. Put in your chopped red or green pepper, if you are using one. Then carefully slice your tomato, making your to keep the juice inside, into small dices.

After you've added in the final ingredients into your dish, gently fold the avocado around it, until you start to integrate the chopped ingredients into the avocado mixture. Remember to be patient and gentle in this step. You could ruin the texture if you are too forceful.
