Top Board Games to Have at Home

Before computers and T.V., there were board games. Board games come in all different shapes and sizes these days, but the truth is, we are still addicted to them. If you ever get bored or need to take a break from your tech screens, here are a few top board games to have at home to play with! Not only do they help time fly by faster, some board games even have educational benefits.

Monopoly

1/5

This is one the most classic board games you can find at the toyshop. For a board game that’s over a hundred years old, you would think that people have gotten bored of it. Just the opposite though - not only are there all kinds of theme-versions of Monopoly to purchase, monopoly gets an upgrade every couple of years. Instead of using fake cash, you can actually now use fake credit cards. This game is not only extremely entertaining, it can also help improve your math while you’re playing!

Game of Life

2/5

The Game of Life is another board game that you should have in your collection. The goal in this game is to get to the end with no debt, so basically you need to win in both your personal life (in the game) and your business life. ‘Life’ is great for people that like to create their own character. It’s kind of like creating an avatar. You get to pick what your avatar does in his or her life and you’ll see how your decisions affect his life at the end of the game. There’s even a Game of Life Junior for younger audiences.

Scrabble

3/5

Scrabble is a vocabulary game that helps kids and even adults expand their vocabulary skills. The more points you get for completing each word on the board, the closer you are to winning the game. The person with the most points at the end wins. It’s easy to play and can be played by up to four people, which makes it a great family game.

Sequence

4/5

Sequence is kind of like chess. Your have chips (instead of pieces) that you use to try and create a row of 5. Your opponent will try to block and get rid of your chips to stop you from making your row. When you make your row, you win the game. This game can be played by adults and kids. It takes a little bit of time to learn how to play, but once you have it figure out, it’s quite exciting.

Cluedo

5/5

Cluedo is a mystery-murder board game. You will need at least 3 people to play. The board is separated into different rooms, and the game involves different suspects and weapons. A murder occurs in one room. You have to find out who the murderer is and what murder weapon was used, all through interrogating your other players.

Board games are amazing to have around your house. You can make a certain day of the week a family or friends game night. Not only will you spend some quality time together with the people that you love, it’s also a great way to give your eyes a break from using your techs.
