Start by finding a place in your house where not a lot of people walk by, and has a corner to place the litter box in. Your cat will feel more comfortable in a corner because there's more privacy and not as much noise. The litter might fly everywhere if the box doesn't have a roof/lid. Before setting the litter box down, place the newspaper underneath as this way any mess that the kitten makes will be easier to clean up later.

Litter Box

Each cat needs 2 litter boxes, but you can first try just using one. If your kitten is still peeing everywhere, try getting another one. Put your bag of cat litter into the litter box, and place your cat inside. The amount of cat litter you use per box depends on the size of the litter box. Put in enough that it's 6-7cm thick so that you can't see the bottom. But don't put too much or less when your kitten tries to bury it since the sands flies out of the box and sprays all around the floor.

Once you have your litter area set up, you can begin the training. Start by placing your kitten in one of his litter boxes. She will be curious, let her sniff and walk around in it for a couple of minutes. Some cats already know what they are suppose to do. But for others, it takes a while. Be sure to praise the cat when she's in the box; this way she knows it's okay to be there and that it's meant for something. Don't force or punish her if she won't go. It's not her fault.
